The authors report on the detection of a source of 0.3 Jy at 408 MHz very close to the accurate position of the object identified with the transient X-ray source A0620-00. The result is based on a single observation, but the following considerations strongly suggest that the detection is real. The rms noise for a single observation is 0.04 Jy, so the detection level of about 7 s.d. is well above the possibility of a random noise fluctuation. The mean flux density at the optical position for all days on which this region of the sky was observed, other than the day on which the source was detected, was -0.03 plus or minus 0.02 Jy. The relative flux density at detection was 0.31 plus or minus 0.05 Jy, which is highly significant, and eliminates the possibility of confusion with a weaker source or with a weak sidelobe. The flux density at 408 MHz is much larger than the higher frequency values, which is consistent with idea that the spectrum could be nonthermal. A spectral index of about -0.7 fits the data fairly well
