This proposal aims to obtain multi-band (B,V,I,b,y, H(alpha)) photometric lightcurves of a newly discovered pre-main sequence (< 10 Myr) eclipsing binary system. Such objects are rare, but extremely important for testing and calibrating stellar evolution models. The calibrated multi-band photometry will allow us to fully characterise the system and derive accurate masses, radii, temperatures, and luminosities for the two stellar components of the binary. These data will aid in modelling the intrinsic variability due to starspots and plages which can affect the derived parameters. The calibrated out-of-eclipse magnitudes for the system will result in an accurate estimate of its distance, providing an independent age constraint. In addition, we will investigate the possibility of circum-binary dust in the system with the I-band lightcurve, and the H(alpha) lightcurve will provide additional information about the chromospheric variability of this late-type star.
