On the first view the dark structures on the martian surface seems to be very static in small telescopes. But detailed comparisons show clear changes, which are visible with amateur - equipment. Only every 2 years the planet Mars is in oposition. For a few weeks the diameter is huge enough for detailed groundbased observations. Some images from 2003, 2005 and 2007 will be presented and compared with HST-images from 1995.
