Current trends and future developments in theoretical astrophysics are discussed, with particular attention given to investigations in cosmology and large-scale structure, galaxies and clusters of galaxies, star formation and interstellar medium, high-energy astrophysics, and the solar system. It is noted that theoretical studies of the origin of the universe structure require evidence on the nature of the dark matter, and the study of galactic structure is inseparable from the study of galaxy formation. Aspects of helioseismological and astroseismological researches are discussed. The solar neutrino problem might be possibly solved within the 1990s. Interpretation of galactic nuclei observations and determination of the existence of massive black holes in these structures are major topics of theoretical research in high energy astrophysics.
