Bl Lacertae Objects: Individual (S5 0716+714), Galaxies: Active, Galaxies: Photometry

We present multicolor optical (Johnson BV and Cousins RI) monitoring
results of 5.3 yr for S5 0716+714. The four-band light curves showed a
high duty cycle of variability. We studied its intranight variability
and the quasi-periodic oscillations and found that the variability can
be explained by a relativistic jet model.
