The Bootes Void is discussed in terms of a theoretical explanations its surrounding shell, and an analysis is conducted to detect an excess Faraday rotation measure (RM) in the shell. A strongly magnetized shell of thermal gas is theorized to exist, and an attempt is made to find an excess over the larger scale background by analyzing measured RM. The quasars near the Bootes Void, most of which exhibit small positive or negative RM, are listed and studied statistically. The mean value of the RM is calculated at several concentric rings around the void, and the net result is no excess RM for two types of analyses. For the conditions of the Bootes Void, the RM formula in which it is less than 10 rad/sq m gives a magnetic-field upper limit 10 times less than the theoretical value of shell fields in the standard cosmic string models.
