The 3350-3400-A spectral range has been observed in the direction of 13 early type stars behind diffuse molecular clouds. Although no lines from transitions in the (0-0) band of SH(+) have been detected, the upper limits to the column density of SH(+) are an improvement over previous searches and indicate the absence of strong MHD shocks at least along the observed line of sight. A series of weak lines have been tentatively identified in the composite spectrum as arising from the two lowest terms of neutral nickel in the ISM.
