Galactic Structure: Spiral Arms

To improve radial distribution diagrams conventionally adopted in the existing literature, the author develops a new presentation of radio spectral line surveys, the longitudinal distribution diagrams of physical parameters of atomic gas or molecular clouds in divided galactic annuli. Using those diagrams, which give azimuth information to some extent, he derives two-dimensional contrasts between arm regions and regions near arms according to existing spiral arm models in the galactic plane.
