Black Holes: Accretion Disks

Advection-dominated accretion flows could be a unique signature of the presence of black holes in various accreting astrophysical systems such as some quiescent transient X-ray sources and low-luminosity nuclei of galaxies. The authors present the general framework describing such advection-dominated flows around Kerr black holes and point out several problems that remain to be solved.
