Data on the temperature and pressure in the atmosphere of Jupiter derived from the Pioneer-10 space probe are compared with radio astronomical measurements of the planet brightness temperature. The radio astronomical data are in good agreement with the infrared measurements, but are in conflict with the occultation measurements of the Pioneer-10. The disagreement between the occultation and infrared measurements is explained by a high-speed vertical motion in the atmosphere of the planet Jupiter. The velocity of vertical motion is estimated to be 1.3 km/sec at 130 K.
