Results from of a deep GMRT 610-MHz survey of the Spitzer Extragalactic First Look Field (xFLS) are presented. Seven pointings were observed with the GMRT, one central and six in a surrounding hexagon, each for ≈200 min. Since the primary beam of the GMRT at this frequency is ≈44 arcmin, these pointings cover most of the xFLS region. The synthesised beam of the images is ≈5 arcsec, and the r.m.s. noise typically ≈30 µJy beam^-1, before primary beam correction, although dynamic range issues limit the quality of the images near bright sources. These results are combined with existing radio data taken with the VLA at 1.4 GHz, and IR data from the Spitzer Space Telescope, to investigate the far-infrared--radio correlation up to redshifts of about 2.
