Wavelets and other multiscale transforms have been increasingly used in astronomy and solar physics over the last ten years. In spite of this these transforms have not yet become a standard part of analysis tools. One main reason is that most of the world’s experts in multiscale transforms are mathematians and electrical engineers. These groups have made code freely available but it is almost exclusively written for MATLAB. In order to make wavelets and other multiscale transforms more accessible to the solar and astrophysics community, I have developed a free IDL toolbox called Mkit. The goal of this Mkit is to provide the community with a documented, user-friendly toolkit for multiscale analysis of time series, images and data cubes. In this presentation I present examples of the first release of this toolkit, a set of tools for wavelet analysis of image data. I will also discuss future additions to the toolbox.
