As part of an extensive photometric study of young star clusters, we present our results for the young star clusters NGC 1960, NGC 2453 and NGC 2384 observed during February 2000 in the J(1.12μm), H(1.65μm) and K'(2.2μm) bands using the NICMOS-3 array detector mounted at the Cassegrain focus of the 1.2m telescope at the Mt Abu Infrared Observatory, Gurushikhar, Rajasthan, India. We report, for the first time, estimates of distance and age for these clusters based on near infrared data. The distances are estimated as 1380 pc, 3311 pc and 3162 pc and the average ages were determined as 125 Myr, 200 Myr and 90 Myr for NGC 1960, NGC 2453 and NGC 2384 respectively. We have extended the color--magnitude diagrams of this cluster to the fainter end and thus extended the luminosity functions for fainter magnitudes. Gaps in the color--magnitude diagrams have been indicated. We have also compared some of the cluster parameters as derived from 2MASS data with our own values. 2MASS data has been further used in the identification of possible T Tauri stars and also to study intracluster reddening.
