The present conference discusses spacecraft measurements of H I and O VI velocity distributions in the extended solar corona, Ulysses solar wind plasma observations at high latitudes, the problem of solar wind mass flux regulation, generalized sonic points and acceleration of the multi-ion solar wind, and EISCAT measurements of interaction regions in the solar wind. Also discussed are coronal Alfven waves from polarized radio occultation experiments, solar wind magnetic holes as MHD solitons, solar coronal abundances, interplanetary signatures of solar mass ejections, ERNE observations of energetic particle fluxes, and modeling for the interplanetary propagation of shock-accelerated protons.
