Photometric monitoring of SN2009hd (CBET#1867) with the Palomar 60- inch (P60) shows that this transient is very red and evolving slowly. On UT 2009 Jul 6.19, I measure g=17.5, r=16.0, i=15.5, z=15.1, B=18.2, V=17.0. Uncorrected for extinction, this corresponds to a faint absolute visual magnitude of -13. Photometric calibration was done wrt SDSS and the uncertainty in these magnitudes is <0.1. Image subtraction using SDSS images as a template was performed to obtain griz magnitudes.
