The symposium includes papers reporting investigations of fast transients in X-rays and gamma-rays. Among the topics treated are fast time spectra of gamma-ray bursts, a neutron star crustquake origin for gamma-ray bursts, and a solar cycle model for oscillating transient X-ray sources. Observations made from satellite, balloon, and ground-based platforms are represented. Individual items are announced in this issue.
