A color-magnitude diagram for the globular cluster NGC 6717 is obtained on the basis of a photoelectric sequence of nine stars. A distance of 7.6 kpc to the cluster is determined, along with an m/H metallicity index of about -1.3 and a (B-V) color excess of 0.17 mag. Integrated cluster magnitudes and colors are measured photometrically. An RR Lyrae cluster member is discovered and studied.
