JHKL observations of a number of known X-ray sources are presented, including several each of 2S 1728-247 and Cir X-1. Infrared searches of the error circles of many unidentified sources have also been made. Most of the objects found in the latter are reddened late-type giants, but some may be reddened early-types with infrared excesses attributable to free-free radiation. The reddening of the late-type giants yields new evidence for the universality of the interstellar reddening law in the JHKL spectral region. Approximate values for the visual extinction in the directions of the X-ray sources may be derived from the infrared data.
