The black-hole metric, vector potential, and geodesic equations are given in the Boyer-Lindquist and Kerr-Newman forms, along with the relations between the two systems. The Kerr-Schild and generalized Eddington metrics are also noted, together with their relations to the other forms. The available literature on the geodesics is then reviewed for Schwarzschild, Reissner-Nordstrom, Kerr, and Kerr-Newman black holes. Attention is given to timelike, null, and spacelike general, circular, and radial geodesics for the nonrotating black holes, as well as to timelike and null general, equatorial, spherical, and 'radial' geodesics for the rotating black holes. The Kerr-Newman solution for a naked singularity is briefly considered.
