There are two known systems in which a millisecond pulsar is currently ablating its companion star, PSR 1957+20 and PSR 1744-24A. The authors discuss whether planetary systems, observed to exist around the millisecond pulsar PSR 1257+12, may be the remnants of this ablation process. It is noted that the observational data show that no planets are present in either PSR 1957+20 or PSR 1744-24A.
