Research in the area of gravitational radiation is discussed. The properties of gravitational radiation are described and compared with the characteristics of light, X-rays, radio and other forms of electromagnetic waves. Consideration is given to astronomical sources of gravitational radiation and astronomical, space-based, and laboratory detectors.
