The stage of spontaneous flame propagation in the carbon-oxygen stellar core is considered. An estimate of the critical temperature of the runaway is obtained. The structure and evolution of the spontaneous burning front is studied analytically and numerically for the isentropic temperature profile. At the final stage of spontaneous flame propagation, the pressure, the density, and the velocity of matter reach the Chapman-Jouguet detonation values.
