High-speed photometry of Hamuy's (Hamuy and Maza, 1986) blue variable star in Orion, obtained on September 26 and 28, 1986 with the two-star photometer of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock attached to the 1.3-m Kitt Peak National Observatory reflector, are presented. Both the short-time-scale flickering and the spectroscopic appearance of the star are found to be typical of the class of nova-like (UX UMa-type) variables. The data suggest that Hamuy's variable does not range over more than a few tenths of a magnitude.
