Possibilities are considered for combining standard-time observations for 1951-1967 with International Time Service data for 1968-1975. The stochastic function y(t), consisting of residuals for the overall 25-yr period, is analyzed, and the Love number k is derived. The effect of smoothing the astronomical observations on the determination of k is examined, and a question is raised concerning the necessity of introducing corrections for tidal plumb-line oscillations and diurnal nutation into the residuals beginning from 1951. It is suggested that visual observations at different observatories should be reduced to a single zero point.
