An analysis is performed which shows that the gas subsystem of a flat galaxy with a double-hump rotation curve is unstable. It is also found that the density perturbations may be trailing Archimedean spirals and diffuse ring structures, that two-armed spirals are driven with the largest increment, and that the instability of multiarmed spirals is suppressed. Spiral-structure parameters are computed from the gas parameters and the rotation curve.
