A linear polarization map of the optical jet of 3C 273 is presented.
Along the whole length of the visible jet the authors detect significant
levels of polarization with an orientation approximately perpendicular
to the jet axis. The results remove the need to invoke a non-synchrotron
contribution to the optical emission from the jet.
