The Astrodome servo system using coordinate converters based on resolvers has been made at Peking Observatory in order to reduce the workload of an observer so that the astronomer could concentrate his attention to the telescope. A squirrel-cage induction motor is controlled by means of relay-operated servo-system. The control system is a nonlinear system. In addition to the dc supply dynamic braking, the system also receives both position and velocity feedback signals.
