The evolution of stellar models in the mass range of 2.5-8 stellar masses with log Z = -8, -6, and -4 has been computed from the main sequence up to off-center carbon ignition or CO core degeneracy; semiconvection and breathing pulses during the central He-burning phase are taken into account. The mass limit between carbon ignition and core degeneracy is presented as a function of Z. Evolutionary results have also been interpreted in terms of production rates of Type I supernovae during the halo phase of the Galaxy.
