Graphical data concerning the period distribution of RR Lyrae variables in galactic clusters are presented, and globular clusters are ranked following the metallicity scale of Zinn and West (1984). Evidence for the inhomogeneity of the Oosterhoff I group, which appears to be split into two subgroups, is presented. The low boundary periods for ab type RR Lyraes are found to vary between the O.I and O.II groups and within the O.I group, following a relation with metallicity which agrees with Sandage's (1982) model for single stars. It is noted that the Oo dichotomy does not imply a discontinuity in the stellar evolutionary parameters.
