Samples of optical supernova remnants, nebulae around WR and Of stars and nebulae driven by the action of the stellar winds of OB stars, in our Galaxy and in the LMC, have been selected on the basis of the knowledge of some of their properties derived from previous observations. The confrontation of those empirical data with the predictions of theoretical evolutionary models allows to discriminate between them. The comparison of the properties of galactic and LMC nebulae turns out to be an important tool in the study of these galaxies.
