We analytically perform a linear stability analysis of a collision front between two identical winds in a double star system in the limit of isothermal flows, with Mach number M = infinity. For that purpose we study the evolution of short wavelength perturbations, applied to a flow in steady state with an infinitesimally narrow collision front. We work with a method that was explored by Soker (1990) for the case of accretion. We show that this collision front is unstable. Stabilizing effects are found when pressure terms are added.
