The MR/1 software package gives center position to a redundant wavelet transform which is particularly suitable for object and feature detection and analysis. Other pyramidal transforms are also available. A range of non-wavelet transforms such as pyramidal median and morphological transforms provide added capability for image analysis and interpretation, and for image database support. Applications of MR/1 include filtering, deconvolution, compression, visualization, and highest quality image and object modeling. The package is unique, relative to other wavelet-based image and signal processing packages, in its range of noise modeling possibilities. Extensive experience is available in the published literature (see in particular Starck et al., Image and Data Analysis: The Multiscale Approach, Cambridge UP, 1998, for many applications) for optical, X-ray and infrared data, among many others. MR/1 Version 2 is available from June 1999, and we will indicate the new features available. Also available from June 1999 is MR/2 - Multiscale Entropy and Applications. A 300-page User Manual is available.
