Eight discrete sources of X-rays consisting of five eclipsing binaries, one spectroscopic binary, and two possible eclipsing systems are considered. A table summarizes the known characteristics of each of the eight binaries. For X-ray production in binary systems two methods are presented that transfer material from the optical star to the X-ray object. One method relies on the natural evolutionary process of star enlargement while the other method relies on stellar winds. As an example of an eclipsing binary X-ray source the 3U 0900-40 is described.
