Scientific paper

The characteristics of Venus swingby trajectories to Mercury are
discussed and are compared with the characteristics of direct
trajectories to Mercury. The characteristics of optimal Venus swingby
trajectories for Mercury flights during the period from 1970 to 1990 are
identified.
