A model is discussed which details the general view that the infrared radiation from the galactic center region originates from interstellar dust heated by stellar radiation. Its ingredients are the stellar mass model for the galactic center, and Spinrad's model for the stellar population in the nucleus of M31. A simple theoretical oscillator model is used for the infrared radiative properties of dust particles. Some qualitative remarks are made regarding the treatment and its approximations.
