Laboratory measurements of the evolution of the ratio of the hyperfine cesium splitting frequency to that of a vibrational-rotational transition in methane were compared to astrophysical measurements of the ratio of the hyperfine hydrogen splitting frequency to that of transitions in an ionized oxygen. The results show that the rates of the evolution of certain fundamental constants are inconsistent with estimates obtained from nuclear decays.
