Contour maps of the radio source CTB 1 at three frequencies and some
polarization data reveal that it consists of a supernova remnant
superimposed on a broad faint H II region. The supernova is tentatively
placed at a distance of about 2.8 kpc and there may be a cloud of
neutral hydrogen at about the same distance.
