A focal corrector was applied at the Newton focus of the 193 cm telescope of the Haute Provence observatory. In this arrangement the Schmidt F/1 camera is tilted to collect the diffracted beams of an objective grating. This array was required for a survey of H II regions in galaxies M33 and M31. The capabilities of high focal ratio narrow band photography for detection of extended monochromatic sources are illustrated.
