Time resolved spectropolarimetry of the magnetic white dwarf PG1015+014 is presented which shows a rich spectrum of Zeeman components of H-alpha and higher Balmer lines in the wavelength region 4000-7000A. Many of the components are seen resolved for the first time in this star and can be modelled approximately with a centered dipole field distribution of polar field-strength 120 + or - 10 MG, viewed near equator on. The oscillation of broad-band circular polarization about a mean value close to 0 percent is readily explained in terms of a perpendicular rotator model in which the spin axis and magnetic axis are orthogonal, and the star is viewed at an angle 20 deg to the spin axis. The spectra show some evidence of regions of significantly higher field-strength, superimposed on the basic dipolar field structure.
