Possible light curve solutions are investigated for the O-type eclipsing binary HD 167971 using a grid-search procedure. The solution which agrees best with the observations has non-zero third light, confirming spectroscopic data which suggest that HD 167971 is a multiple star system consisting of at least three components. The preliminary light curve solution indicates that the eclipsing system is semi-detached, and it appears that mass transfer has occurred.
