Prospects, plans, and difficulties are examined for EUV astronomical observations in general and for the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) EUV experiment in particular. Problems associated with EUV observations are summarized, the scope of the ASTP EUV experiment is outlined, and the ASTP EUV instrumentation is described. The major problem of EUV absorption by interstellar neutral hydrogen is explained, and objects that may emit detectable EUV radiation are grouped into these classes: coronae of nearby stars, active subdwarfs, white dwarfs, planetary nebulae and O-B subdwarfs, flare stars, dwarf novae, pulsars, and the planet Jupiter. Primary candidates in each class are identified which will be observed in the ASTP EUV experiment.
