Digital spectra-time analysis of primary magnetic tape recordings of signals shows that tweek atmospherics constitute a resonant branch of a nighttime atmospheric connected with the transverse size of a near-earth waveguide. The effective conductivity and heights of the nighttime lower ionosphere are determined on the basis of measurements of the Q-factor of amplitude spectra and the frequency of the total attenuation of the tweek atmospherics.
