Since rare earth elements (REE) patterns with depleted refractory REE are so common among Allende inclusions, it should be expected to find also inclusions with enriched refractory REE. However, no such inclusion has ever been found in Allende. One inclusion from Murchison shows a slight enrichment of refractory REE with a chondrite-normalized Lu/Sm ratio of about 3. The present investigation is concerned with a much more refractory inclusion from Ornans with a Lu/Sm ratio of more than 200. The inclusion is not only highly enriched in the most refractory REE, but it contains also the most refractory metals, including Ir, Os, and Re, in similarly high concentrations. Such an inclusion may either represent a first condensate from a cooling gas of solar composition or the last residue from an evaporation of chondritic material. Attention is given to recovery, trace element patterns, and mineralogy of this unique inclusion.
