In the present study of velocity dispersion effects on the structure and stability of the disk of the SB0 galaxy NGC 936 as a function of radius, the bar is noted to furnish NGC 936 with an engine that heats the disk. The results obtained are compared with those for three unbarred or weakly barred galaxies, namely NGC 488, NGC 1553, and the Milky Way. The NGC 936 circular orbit rotation curve has a maximum velocity of 330-360 km/sec, consistent with the H I velocity halfwidth of 360 + or - 46 km/sec. Since the scale height of a disk is approximately proportional to the inverse of the projected mass density, the scale height of the bar of NGC 936 is predicted to be smaller than that of the disk in which it is embedded by a factor of about 2.
