The studies reported show the potential importance of Bremsstrahlung X-ray polarization and its probable role in atmospheric diagnostics. A procedure developed by Kirkpatrick and Wiedmann (1945) has been used to compute the height profile of the degree of polarization of bremsstrahlung X rays in the terrestrial atmosphere, giving attention to variations due to changes in related parameters.
