Scientific paper

Active phenomena in the solar atmosphere are considered along with the solar neutrino problem, the U.K. 48-inch Schmidt telescope and the SRC IIIaJ survey, the X-ray pulsed fraction of NPO532 and interstellar grains, and the synchrotron and inverse Compton processes in X-ray clusters of galaxies. Attention is given to early-type emission line radio stars, low frequency maps of the Galaxy, the Parkes 408 MHz southern survey, orthogonal polarization in pulsar radio emission, high-resolution observations of Centaurus-A and Pictor-A at 160 MHz, and long-term variations in Jupiter's 11 cm radio emission. Individual items are announced in this issue.
