Scientific paper

The pulsar wind nebulae (PWN) around the Vela and PSR B1706-44 pulsars
have been observed in 2003 and 2004 with the H.E.S.S. Cherenkov
telescopes. No evidence of a γ-ray emission from either source is
seen and upper limits on the integrated flux are reported.
