Space Missions: Solar Wind
Scientific paper
The authors presents a brief outline of the planned NASA Genesis space mission. A spacecraft will be stationed at the Lagrangian point L1 of the Sun - Earth system and will collect for two years samples of solar wind particles. The samples will be returned to Earth and very accurate isotopic abundances of solar wind ions should be obtained. Major emphasis is given to determining the isotopic composition of solar oxygen.
