Multifilter polarimetric measurements of 19 solar neighborhood flare stars and spotted stars outside of flares are presented. The stars cover a large range of luminosity among the red dwarfs. No linear polarization is detected in any of the broad-band filters used. A detailed study of simultaneous polarimetric and photometric measurements of two spotted flare stars (BY Dra and EV Lac) reveals no variability in polarization data when starspot groups move across the stars as they rotate. Data covering a spectral range from 3300 A to 9500 A clearly show that there is no linear polarization present in BY Dra over this baseline. The data are of good quality, and precisions are improved especially at short wavelengths relative to earlier works. During a complex flare on AD Leo, we could not detect any linear polarization despite the fact that the measurements were made through an ultraviolet filter where the flare light contributed a significant part of the received flux.
