The author has investigated the level scheme of 176Lu with the reactions 175Lu(n,γ) 176Lu and 175Lu(n,e-) 176Lu. These measurements were complemented with a study of the (d,p) transfer reaction. The improved knowledge of the 176Lu level scheme is used to discuss the astrophysically important s-process branching ratio at 176Lu in detail.
